2.8.2 Memory Step
A Memory step refreshes memories from Agent Systems as part of a Workflow. It re-extracts the memories you select from the current knowledge graph, so the data your AI agents draw on stays in sync with the graph, automatically and on a schedule.
Add a Memory step from the canvas palette, then open it to choose which memories it refreshes.
Give the step a name
At the top of the step, set a title and, optionally, a description. These identify the step on the canvas.
Select memories
Choose the memories this step refreshes from the Available list:
- Filter by agent system: narrow the list to the memories that belong to a particular Agent System.
- Search: find a memory by name.
- Use the checkboxes to select the memories to include.
As you select memories, Impacted agent systems shows which Agent Systems the step affects, so you can see the reach of the refresh before you run it.

Control when the step runs
Like every Workflow step, a Memory step has:
- Enabled: whether the step runs. Turn it off to skip it without deleting it.
- Run if: All succeeded (run only if every preceding step succeeded) or All done (run once the preceding steps have finished, whatever their outcome).
Placing a Memory step after a Build step is a common pattern: the Build step updates the graph, and the Memory step then refreshes the memories built from it.
Save or delete the step
Choose Save to keep the step's configuration. To remove it, open the step and choose Delete memory step.
